POSADAS is an artistic collective working in different mediums: paintings, garment pieces, emotional installations, live music performance and film. Events and elements of nature and human society are recognized from an inter-sectional perspective, to nurture the concepts around a speculative future in a society that needs access to nature to exist and communicate.
We see POSADAS as a reflection of ourselves, a crafty system that came to life through the dynamics of co-creation as the way to articulate our practice and assemble our ideas. Our practice adapts the concept of creating new human states by generating “new ecologies” around art as experience and memory.
POSADAS was founded in 2018 by artists Lara Crafti (Universidad de Costa Rica) and Igni Hernández (Universidad de Costa Rica). The collective now includes Lara Crafti, Igni Hernández, and Balkis Díaz (Baby Cure). We have been based in Santa María La Ribera (CDMX, México), Playa Chiquita (Limón, Costa Rica), and are currently based in Los Angeles, CA and Costa Rica.
